How Do You Wake Up Early?



This is the problem that I have been having for quite sometimes now. I couldn't make it a habit to wake up early anymore! The earliest I could wake up on a weekdays is 8am (minus snoozing the alarm), and 9am on weekend.

I wanted to make it a habit to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning, so that I could go for a jog or do my workout in the morning, but until today, I have failed to do so. No matter how early I went to bed at night, the result is still the same.

I still remember when I first came to KL for study and in my first month, I always wake up as early as 6 or 7 in the morning. I will boil some hot water, make myself a cup of coffee, sit at the balcony of my apartment and enjoy the morning scenery.

Thanks to the last minute of burning midnight oil for assignments, DOTA, online games, 24 hours mamak and late night movie, I began to go to bed very late (and sometimes sleepless), and starts waking up late too. Since then it became a habit and waking up early is always a struggle for me.

So how did you all do it? Waking up early. I desperately need to learn because I've always been late to the office, tho its just around 15-20 minutes walk from my house and my work start at 9am. Haha, I know right...

Bro,I will share with you,cos I wake up everyday about 6 am to 6.30 am regardless holiday or tak ada holiday,it is mental programming.....picture yourself having a nice morning run,coffee or praying early in the morning,use the alarm initially but slowly and surely your body will adapt to this routine,, trust me........

    Just go for it,,,

  3. dulu time sy praktikal pun everyday i had to wake up as early as 5! skrg tgh cuti semester, sy balas dendam bangun jam 10 pagi stiap hari.heheheh ;p
    err what you have to do in order to change your sleep schedule is stick with a consistent bedtime. avoid that late night movie and the mamakssss. maybe? kehkeh

  4. hahaha!! same same here, i am never an early person too.. but i know how bad i am, so i purposely set my alarm clock 30 minutes earlier, so that i can snooze for three times before i finally am willing to wake up, not a bad idea right?? :D

  5. working days, i wake up in between 5 and 5:15am altho i set my alarm at 4:45.... without alarm i will surely wake up at 6. To pee.... During weekend, i usually awaken at 7am before decided to get up or not. But i find it easier to wake up with my curtains open, to let the morning sun shines through...tapi, kalo di KL susah juga. 7am masi gelap. :)

  6. Erm, try sleeping early, and set your alarm at 7am.. And tell yourself to wake up when the alarm rings.. One day you'll sure get used to it~

  7. Actually I always slept late but I manage to wake up at the same time every morning... well, beza 1 min or two la. Wakakaa.

    And I think there's no easy way to do this, just force yourself to wake up early. Alarm clock, volume to the max. And keep it that way for one week, or better yet, one month. After that, your biological clock kicks in and you don't need an alarm clock anymore hehee.

    Sometimes I even wake up right before my alarm clock make noise. That felt like an accomplishment hahaa.


    But whatever it is, the most important thing is of course this one, just get your ass of the bed as soon as open your eyes. Not, nanti la lima minit lagi. I do that once recently, and I woke up an hour after. Hebat kan sia LOL.

  12. Yeah... I left my curtain open too and the thing is... the sun doesn't shine through my room in the morning xD

    Need to adjust my biological clock back.

  14. I am one stubborn sleeper. If sleeping beauty is a guy, I think I would be eligible to take on the role, haha.

    I will try harder to force myself to wake up from today onward!

  15. Echo Eugene using the visualization method. Before you sleep visualize the clock face at 6.00am and tell your mind repeatedly you gonna wake up at this hour just before you shut down while lying on bed. Good luck.

    You need to have an aim to reach during the morning. I will walk up earlier when I tell myself, must wake up early, need to make up, need to bath, need to eat nice breakfast. If I didn't wake up early, end up.... tak cantik la. :D Hungry la. hehehhe

  22. sometimes u have to make it habit if u want it to be a habit. hehe. well, in my case, before i go to sleep i will "pasang niat" to wake up early..lets say i want to wake up at 6..& i'll set the alarm at 6..then it would go with the niat lah..alarm rings, sy terus get up without snoozing the alarm. hehe. my mom taught me to do like that since i was little. :p
