It's a day filled with insights, curiosity and above all - talents. Finally Malaysian is being exposed to what many has been despise for so many years, and only now truly realize the true colors of creativity and arts.
The event started off with some of the well known Malaysian celebrities sharing their experience and knowledge about the entertainment industry in the country and what it really takes to make in Malaysia - not just for the money but most importantly for the expression of our true passion for creativity and arts.
Paul Moss (Media Prima's GM, OIAM's judge), Daphne Iking (actor, host), Audio Mok (producer, song writer), Niki Cheong (blogger, journalist) and the only guy who gets the standing ovation from the crowd, the one and only Harith Iskandar (comedian, director). They are all an amazing speaker and one of the thing that they have in common in their message for SOTA, is to follow your dream and let not others stop you from achieving it.
No one understand more about your own talents than you yourself. If you have it then use it for a greater purpose. Along the way, yes someone will be a road block for you, but never let those road block stop you from becoming who you really are and what you really wanted to become.
Nothing happened by chances, you need to create your own 'luck' and you need to be smart enough to be 'lucky'. -Niki Cheong-
It was truly an awesome event that filled with laughter, especially with Daphne Iking and Harith Iskandar taking the stage. These people are being true to themselves, they are what they are on stage without putting on a mask. The truth is always the best comedy you can come up with and they did just that.
Later at the evening session they were having the 'State of Talents' competition where youngster will battle it out on stage to perform and to present the talents that they have to win the grand prize money of RM1500 cash.
It turns out to be more than just a battle, it was indeed a blast of creativity and talents on stage. The crowd was mesmerize and in awe when the contestant went on stage one by one. It was a remarkable showcase of talents from singing to dancing, poetry reading, musical instrument, skills and magic.

The competition was won by a 12 year old boy who perform an outstanding skills with his Chinese Yo-yo. The crowd goes wild when he executed his final move, where he spin and let the yo-yo to hang in mid-air without any strings attached and then snatch it back with his string just in time before the yo-yo could hit the ground. Its like seeing a flying saucer suddenly being snatch away in mid-air. Awesomeness.
All in all SOTA is indeed a great success, though there are still rooms for improvement but the main agenda for the event is greatly achieved this time. Everyone, especially Malaysian should realize that creativity, arts and talents is not meant to be a disgrace or despise for anyone. Its a true expression of who we really are, and it plays a great role in our life especially for the young people.
A person with talent should be allowed to spread their wings and fly accordingly to where their creativity brings them. Do not alter them or you will have a disfigured and non-functional person. Nurture their talents and they will in turn become some one great in life.
